Hey Grand-Poo-BAH, this is a great idea for a new forum. But PLEASE change the order of the forums.

I'm sooo used to "Film-Yak" being in the 3rd place and now you have inserted this forum in the wrong place thus upsetting the "normal" order.

Please put this lame, less important, section just after Film-Yak, or, better yet!, futher down the "food chain" where it belongs!

Yours in Christ,

>>> Phil

Phil, you could not be more right. Making sure you are using the correct butter on the popcorn and color coordinating the polyester uniforms is of much greater importance than this "lame" forum. [fu]

I agree... as my life-blood for 15+ years was large format 870/1570 venues. But, in the grand scheme of things, who the f*ck cares? It's all just "fluff".

NO format is better than any other... it's all just what ever is the best solution to what meets the requirements of the particular venue.

just had to give you a bit of crap Pill. In all I agree with you. I have always enjoyed your posts as many of em have made me laugh. And, to a rookie like me, you seem pretty well informed on the industry.

DAMmit, I thought I had made Phil's enemy list. I'll have to start giving him more [bs] now. Unless I'm one of the ones he can't think of, but that still means I need to give him more [bs] .

Mark! Please don't sell me short! I'll have you know I designed 62.5% of those systems! Cut me some slack, huh?

Mike: Please forgive me... you are most definitely on my "List"! [beer]

While you can't really tell by his usual posts, read Phil's bio in 'Who the Heck are you?' I think he knows his stuff.

Totally agree, I have gone into the ground forum once on accident becasue of this forum, once is too many. [Smile]

BTW Phil your teaser topic made me think you wanted to talk about the old two piece knock through field lens. Oh happy days! [Cool]

Oh silly Phil, this website is film oriented. Yak is just extra fun babbling. However if you really want me to move the forums around I don't mind having the order randomly change every hour. [evil]

Yeah, I'd rather see this forum moved down on the list so at least the top three remain in the original order. I use that menu a lot more starting a couple months back since a scripting error on this site makes me unable to BACK up if my proxy is in use.

Geez! I can't imagine the chaos that would ensue over a background color change or, god forbid, a text change to Times New Roman!!!

Sure, I prefer non-change as much as the next guy; but really, is the order of the forum categories so vital that, say, after a week, you'll even notice?

In most themed boards, the equivalent of "Film Yak" is usually on the BOTTOM! Hmmm? What do you say? Or ...

Adam, please correct me if I am off-base! But, I **REALLY** doubt that *you* could "push me down" and make me become a "bottom". I mean, did HELL freeze over when I wasn't looking? [Razz]

But this would imply that there are threads that DON'T degenerate into sleazy pits of bad sex jokes. The way I see it, as long as Phil's a member, all threads are potential mind-in-the-gutter joke-fests. [Razz]

Well, Brian, some of the best minds are in "the gutter" as you say. And, do you REALLY think if I'm "baited" for a comment that I will pass it up? OH PULEEZE! Get real!

Besides, Mike "understands me" ... [Smile]

I notice that nothing has changed on the front page. Still have to scroll down a little bit.

It's refreshing to see that I am not the only perv here. I always suspected that the darkness of the booth has something to do with 'perv-ness.' It can only be a good thing.

Phil, I keep begging for these images that you keep saying that you have. I need something to entertain me, fast!

We could put this forum on top, then Ground Level, then Film Handler's, then Joke-A-Thon, all the way down to Yak at the bottom. Good idea????

We should just stop updating the site if everyone's gonna bitch about it. So you can delete all those photo sets that you have and I'll stop working on that photo warehouse script.

I suppose there is a certain logic to leaving it where it is since this is basically FHF for Large Format so might as well group it with regular FHF. But all caps? That doesn't follow the style of the others.

The downside to segregating LF posts to another forum is that fewer people will read them. I only read them for curiousity and in here that's like a whole extra click. [Mad]

Rob, I think the biggest argument is against the location of the forum, and not the forum itself. I myself would prefer if the forums would rotate to different locations automatically. [thumbsup]

Maybe the POST REPLY button should be replaced with an I'M FEELING LUCKY button, like Google has. You hit that button, and your post goes into a random forum, and if it's the wrong one, you get banned.

That much is obvious. Why the text must visually represent that is what isn't clear. Just seems gimmicky as though if there ever was a 16mm forum it would need to have its name in a tiny font. The real downside is that it draws the eye in a way that makes it seem like the forum is more important. Not a hallmark of good design. Bobby?

I guess it is because in the large format world things tend to just run along with out all the issues many other formats have

There aren't nearly as many screens in the large format world either. Math is math. Still, this is a film/presentation based website and both "film forums" shall remain at the top.

Why can't everyone just stop whining??? Geez. [Roll Eyes]

I say we push Ground Level down or just delete it altogether (along with everybody's posts). Nobody cares about floorstaff or managers anyway. They're not even real people! They just get in the way when you are trying to extort them.
