On the Science Channel series HOW IT'S MADE tonight (3/16/07), they showed the construction of an Imax MPX projector. The basic guts of the unit were shown, the light modules, the rotor and film transport, and a simple explanation of the rolling loop. Certainly not a detailed analysis, but does show the guts of the unit in great detail. The lens is shown as it installed, and they even show the polarizers moving into position. Really surprised they would show it in such detail. Note that this show is for a general audience, and they don't go into great detail on terminology.
This show is repeated frequently on Science Channel and Discovery Channel, so you might be able to see it again.
