what's "29.5 metres high and 35.7 metres wide." in feet??

"A marshal standing on the second level of the theatre bellows orders to the rigging crew to pull up the screen to the top of the theatre."

Google does conversions...just throw

29.5m to feet

into a Google search box...same for 35.7m to feet

They also posted a video, although it’s pretty much the same content.

I saw several films at the Sydney IMAX in 2008–2009, including The Dark Knight, Transformers 2 and a couple of 100% 15/70mm nature docs. I did feel that even 2D was a bit dim on the old silver screen, so I guess a new screen was in order indeed. Then again, I don’t think it’s even theoretically possible to quite reach 21 or 22 foot-lamberts (or whatever the IMAX standard is) on a screen that big, even when you’re using the brightest 15 kW bulb available.

Also, not surprisingly, 35mm-originated DMR material doesn’t really hold up that well when blown up to such enormous proportions. Even the 15/70mm-originated shots in TF2 were clearly lacking in resolution because they went through a 4K DI.

Still, it was quite an experience every time. [Cool]
