I'm interested in finding out what measures are being taken at D-Cinema sites to protect equipment from surges/brown outs/spikes/voltage fluctuations/lightning protection etc etc.
If this is being done is it only selected circuits being protected or does the whole incoming electricity supply go through power conditioning?

You mean the server isn't on some kind of high-quality online UPS with power conditioning? You've got to be joking. That makes no sense at all.

The Christie/AccessIT package has the server and the DCA automation on a UPS.

Even with a UPS you'll at least want a TVSS (surge suppressor) on the panel(s) supplying the D-Cinema equipment. I like the Leviton 51120-3 or the (better and more expensive) Liebert AccuVar.
