Is there any automation on the market that will do the aud. functions for both the 35mm & DLP...right now the projectionist in Japan has to start the Quvise player, start the DLP (Christie CP2000 D-Cinema proj.) turn house lights down manually & turn off the exit sign...yes I said exit sign, they do not run the movie with the exit sign on...I had to installed three ralays to do this using the CNA-150 automation...we installed Apogee 35mm proj, Strong IIA console & CNA-150 automation....they want a automation that can do aud. functions without doing it maually when using the D-Cinema digital proj....any ideas ???

In our digital cinema installations, the feature file is accompained by a script which triggers relay closures on a relay node. These are wired in parallel to the existing automation wiring.
In our newly opened cinema, we have the Kinoton DMP1 which is a "lighter" version of the EMK1/CA21 Pennywise automation. What they both have in common is that you can edit and store multiple programs with time delays in between steps. Both automations can be triggered by a contact closure from outside. All they need is one impulse from the outside. Whatever function is programmed in the next step of the program is then executed, or multiple steps with time delays.
I do not know if that would work really well in your case, but maybe that setup gives you some ideas.

While peering in the back of the rack at Showest, the NA10 on display turned out to be just a front panel with a couple of LED's in it, no cards, no chassis, nothing. Does it even exist yet? [Confused]

The Christie/Pennywise CA21 can be configured to do ANYTHING! If a theater is planning on doing something even remotely out of the normal 3 cue with slide presentation, they really should be buying these. They save a TON of money and hassle in the long run and just cannot be beat. (You have to actually use them to truly understand how wonderful they are.)

This goes back a while.. but when we helped on a couple of installations back here on TI demo units we interfaced spare functions from the CineQ automation to also fire the DLP projector. If you wanted to run the DLP without the 35 then you just turned off the breaker for the 35 and vise versa.

The CineQ is very flexible as well with many spare functions to easily program and interface.

Hi Don,

We use AMX automatizations in all our auditoriums, it's very flexible. In one auditorium we even use it in combination with an Tascam DM-24 mixing console and it works. [thumbsup]

It has only one problem, you need two days to wrestle thru the "How to program ..." section of the manual.
