From the Lucasfilm starwars.com site:
http://starwars.com/episode-ii/news/2002/05/news20020514.html "The release also marks the largest digital presentation for a film with over 94 digitally-projected presentations in 17 markets, including the United States and Canada. Click here ( http://starwars.com/episode-ii/digitalproj_list.html ) for the list of digital theatres presenting Episode II.
The movie will open in 3161 theaters across North America and Canada -- with approximately 6,000 prints."

Actually the numbers I heard are different. I heard 115,000 film prints worldwide and 95-ish DLP screens. Note how the "over 94 digitally projected..." is the worldwide number, yet "6000 prints" is the US/Canada number? Kinda sneaky. Assuming the numbers I got were valid, that ratio is much higher.

Maybe 11,500?
If so, 94/11500 = 0.82 percent.

In Germany, there are about 1200 prints of Episode 2. In Berlin, there is one digital presentation (which isn`t even advertised as such), how many in the whole country, I don`t know.

The two German theatres listed as digital presentations are:UCI Kinowelt Zoo Palast Berlin Germany
Cinedom Koln Cologne Germany
2/1200 = 0.17 percent.

Next big question, of those 94 DLProjectors, how many of them were actually PURCHASED by the exhibitors, as opposed to an exhibitor letting Technicolor install one for free (in its underhanded scheme to pre-empt the market with a first generation technology and in doing so, try to thwart the superior systems that are still being worked on, like the laser based projectors and Kodak's system? If we only count the DLPs that exhibitors have PAYED for, then I think our ratio will be REALLY skewed.
