I will be hooking up various Sony decks to a Barco ACS2048 & Dp100 combo. Does the DMA8+ follow the Tascam wiring convention for its DB-25 analog input? Thanks.

I don't know the Tascam DB25 wiring but I highly doubt it. The DMA8 DB25 wiring is based, like all other cinema unbalanced DB25s, on the Dolby CP200 JM11/JM21 pinout if you were to squeeze the ribbon cable onto a DB25 rather than a 2x10 HDR connector. The Only thing the DMA8 PLUS added to that was make it a balanced connector and thus assigned specific "-" pins.

For Teac/Tascam to follow a bizarre cinema convention would be very surprising, indeed.

Shoulda read the manual (note this only applies to the DMA8 PLUS, not the original DMA8).

Note too, if you use a 25-pin straight cable with a CP650 or CP500...all will be good since they ground all of the non-signal pins and thus, the "-" terminals will be grounded.

If you make your own cables and you are using other processors...you have to pay attention.
