I have a problem with the Christie 2000Zx projector using a CDXL30SD xenon. Every morning your strike the xenon, it runs for about 20 seconds then goes out. The red warning light comes on and 10 seconds later it re strikes itself and is fine the whole day.
The log says ...unexpected bulb outage....The xenon has done 360 hours and runs around 1000 watts on 2D and 2150 watts on C/S 3D.

I ahve tried striking it on different channels with dowser open or closed for the same result

Has anyone had this problem.

First off, if you are burning a CDXL30SD lamp at 2000 watts to achieve 3D, don't. Put a regular CXL30 lamp in there and burn it at 2500 watts or so. You might also want to consider leaving the current set for 3D, as changing the power into a bulb is murder on it and trying to run it at 33% power is most probably the cause of the failure.

Put another lamp in there and watch it light. If it doesn't, take a real close look at your connections.

It is most likely going out because it's set at too low of current. The 30SD is designed to run at full power(3000 watts) for it's entire life span. The minimum current you'd want to run it at is about 85 amps. Try running it at a higher current before you yank it... at least get your money's worth out of the lamp... it's not a cheap lamp to buy. If you send it in for warranty they'll just return it to you saying it's ok.
