Passed through Grand Central Terminal yesterday, and in the passageway leading to the shuttle subway train there there's a Winter Olympic themed advertisement for Visa credit cards, including projected video on quite a large screen. For a couple of hours each day, 11:30 - 1:30 I think, this is in 3-D. I don't know how long it's going to be there for.

Must have been quite an expensive exercise just in technical terms, quite apart from what the MTA would charge for advertising in such a location, and the several staff involved.

Glasses were linear polarised hand-held. Can't say much about the projection, except that there was a sign saying it was by Christie. The equipment couldn't be seen as it was mounted in a flight case attached to the ceiling of the passageway, and this case seemed to have been specially made for the location, as it was shaped to fit around some electrical trunking.

Considering the effort and expense that somebody has obviously gone to I wasn't very impressed; the light level was very low, even by 3-D standards, and considering the subject-matter, not very spectacular.

Credit Card companies have lots and lots of (our) money, and don't forget, it's a tax right off for them.

Sony is showing their 3-D at the Sony store in Lenox Mall here in Atlanta. I found it to be at times interesting, and at other times annoying. They were using an LCD set, and glasses (I don't know which type.
