While at work tonight, I was walking by one of our Christies. Did a quick glance into the port glass, and noticed the picture shaking horizontally. I stood and watched the movie, thinking it was a earthquake in the movie itself. Nope, for some reason walking behind, or besides it shakes the picture. And it's very noticeable.

Come to find out, it's been happening to that projector since last summer!! Why it's not fixed (or not reported, not sure which one) is way beyond me. [uhoh]

I made a giant note for someone to tell the tech about it.

So, my question is has anyone had this issue, and what was the cause of major horizontal shaking while just walking past it.

What type of material is your booth floor made of?

On a side note... I worked one theatre the former Loews Freshpond Mall 10 in Cambridge, Ma that had an M.B.T.A. Commuter Rail track right next to the building. Needless to say about 15 times a day the whole damn building would shake as that train came through. I used to joke that it was our very own "Sensurround" system!

Not sure, but there's carpeting. We have 10 DLPs, this is the only one that hates footsteps around it.

Sorry, but DLP projectors are not capable of hate. They only offer love and happiness.

Allison, it is most likely that the feet on that DLP are not all sitting on the floor, they can be adjusted so that they all contact the floor and are level.

Another possibility is if the projector is not securely bolted to the base....
