We're going to show a project that can come to us on a hard drive.It's stored as an MPEG 2 file. We've got a Kodak CineServer and a Barco ACS 2048 and a DP100. Is this possible or should we play it from a laptop?

Don't know about the Kodak servers, but I do know that no other DCI server can play plain MPEG2 files. Technically it would probably be easy to wrap it into MPEG Interop DCPs, but you would need to know something about DCP creation, get the software (both free and very expensive apps are available). It would be worth the hassle of learning this if this comes to you on a regular basis, but, for a one time effort, you should play it off a laptop using VLC or MPC-HC.
