We are in the process of getting ready for converting to christie CP2220 and CP2210 in our theatres from film.
My question is does anyone know how I go about getting certified to work on these projectors?
We are pretty isolated and the service companies closest to us are too busy at this time to offer new service contracts but we are required to have a contract with a service provider or have some one "in house" trained.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you went with the CBG/Cinedigm... I pity you! I could actually sell you a system you could afford to purchase outright! In past years Christie has generally only trained their authorized dealers employees and other support agencies to make repairs but you could check with them and see if they would train you... However, both Barco or NEC will allow you to go through their training class for a fee... BARCO was $3500 last I heard and Strong charges $750.00 to become authorized to do service on their gear at your location. The number of training classes are very limited at any of the companies as are class size.

I happen to go through Lander-Riverton and do service work all around you and north of you three or four times a year but will only support Barco or NEC, although I am also Christie certified.

I was in the last group to take the series one Christie training. At that time the Series two training was still in development. I'm pretty sure you can get the training from Christie once it becomes available (you will likely need to fly out to Cypress to take the class though)

we are going with the cbg/cinedigm but have not completed the agreement yet. Would love to hear opinions on other options and such!
