A film-maker friend of mine has had someone do him a 'favour' and has made a DCP for his short film. Problem is, the tracks are not in the correct configuration.

I believe 1 and 2 are correct, but 3 and 4 and then 5 and 6 are in each other's places. Is there a way to separate the 6 tracks from the .mxf file so they can be dropped back in the right spot?

If it is unencrypted, you can unwrap it, reorganize, rewrap. Do you know which tool has been used to create the DCP?

If it is for a single showing, of course there is the option to change the wiring/routing on the Processor in- or outputs, either in soft- or hardware. Then correct the DCP later.

asdcp-test.exe is a simple commandline tool that can unwrap audio MXF to multichannel or single-channel WAV files. Reorganize e.g. using audacity, or simply rename before feeding it into MXF/DCP again.

Hi Carsten

I do not know what they used to make the DCP unfortunately.

Where can I find asdcp-test.exe? I see it mentioned a lot on Google, but can't seem to locate a download for it.

Hi Carsten

I've found another way to unwrap it and reconfigure the tracks by using MXF Wizard.

Many thanks for your help.

Where did you find 'MXF Wizard'?

I did a google search. You have to send an email to them explaining how you intend to use it and they send you back a 24 link to the download.

Unwraps and wraps with the click of the mouse. Very simple and easy.

Here's the link.

Oh yes, I knew that one, I thought MXF Wizard was another app.

Did you succeed in correcting the channel order and is the new DCP playable?

Because there are some issues that could cause errors, e.g. wrong hashes, etc.
