I have an HDCAMSR deck SRW5000. It plays all HDCAMSR tapes fine but won't play either Digibeta or HDCAM. It ejects the tapes as soon as they are put in.
I know there is an option to auto-eject tapes that are not of the currently selected format/framerate but this is turned off.
Any ideas?????

If this is the first time you're encountering difficulty loading/playing these kinds of recordings, it may be an indication that you don't have the requisite format conversion card(s) installed.

Do you know if you have any optional cards installed? Have you played these formats before in that deck?

Also, turn the tape upside down and check the matrix of four D-shaped holes in the top (near the tape door) center of the tape shell. Some of these will be "punched out" and some will be "filled in"; this is how the deck determines what type of tape you are using. Sometimes the tapes get dropped or otherwise damaged in shipment and that area of the shell can get damaged. You then have the option of either using a piece of artist tape to cover the extra punched-out holes (compare to a known-good tape of the same format) or transplating the tape reels into a different shell of the same format. Either method works fine, though I would not trust the artist tape method for more than one or two screenings.

if you are not sure of options goto interface
1-simul SFT & diagnosis button press
2-F5 for options
HKSR5002 is for dbeta

...and, depending on the frame rate of the tape(s) -- HDCam included -- you might also need the HKSR5001
