Has anyone seen (Red)'s redray projector in action yet or had any other experience with it? Do you think it is a viable alternative to a Barco or Christi?

Doesn't look like it's DCI compliant so no... I guess.

I like how it's rack mountable, though. Put it right in with the Dolby CP-55.

i guess not, since this is a playback server (without internal storage btw), not a projector.

Nothing mentioned for Digital Cinema units but for home based HD units.

Feed the stuff from the playback unit into a Geffen scaler to play back for JPEG2000 use.

It just outputs from RED files (camera files) straight to either live play or DCI from what I see.

That's a pretty broad statement that pretty much covers DCI.

I agree it isn't making a DCP file where it becomes part of a play list. It's just a glorified bluray.
