Our projector is a Barco DP2K-15C, and since we changed the lamp, is giving the following error message every time we connect to it:
IDENTIFIER: 5835 DESCRIPTION: !ti-link-decryptor - security log warning
Does anyone know what it means? And no, I don't have access to a user manual, and Google can't help! I presume it's a security violation, although everything functions normally ... so far! Is there a fix? It's freaking out our volunteer projectionists!

With the projector, you probably got a small thumb key (forget what its called) which you have to press up to the panel (there's a button like spot there the size of a penny) and input the I believe 4 or 6-digit code. That should clear the 'tampering violation'.

There is a probleme with your server.
It should read the TI log that is almost full.
Call your installer (and check the connection between the server and projector).

This is not related to your lamp change.
The security log in the TI link decryptor module (a sealed metal unit usually on the SDI input card) should be downloaded to the server regularly. There is a bug in some software versions that causes some security log entries to not download. These entries eventually fill the available memory on the TI module, and you get that warning. Pretty soon, when the memory is full, you will get a critical error: after that, encrypted content will no longer play.
The problem is probably with the server: get a diagnostic package and send it to their tech support people. Usually you have to run a special program on the server to clean up the projector's TI log memory, these programs are specific to your server so the tech support guys have to generate them and send them and the associated licenses to you.
Less often, the TI "Enigma" module is bad and has to be replaced. Techs supporting a lot of screens will be too familiar with this procedure.

There are a couple of Into-Ts on this one and it will affect all DLP projectors with the enigma (non-IMB)...a way to possibly correct the problem is to update to Enigma 1.6 (which will prevent the problem in the future).
This and the Info-Ts are definitely technician jobs.

Many thanks guys - our support engineers are on it now! They confirm that software/firmware updates are required.

It's called a Dallas Key.
Posted by Monte L Fullmer (Member # 2797) on 09-05-2012, 03:59 AM:
And using that Dallas Key (formally called an "iButton" that uses the 1-wire technology) requires the code to be placed in on the format touchpad within 5 seconds after the key is touched to the receptacle, with the numbers going yellow, or the unit locks up solid.
This sounds like a patch that needs to be ingested in the server, then the server needs to be turned off completely, then rebooted and left alone for the patch to completely update the software. Patch updates the security log to remove old logs when needed.

And generally, on the 15C, the code is dialed using the macro buttons in that order 1-2-3-4-5-6-1-2
The TI log issue is becoming really annoying as I had to perform log purge three times in less than five days on another machine. It's not really hard to do, it just takes 40 to 60 minutes each time.

is it an issue? With the proper software versions you should not have any issues at all. What server and version are you running?
Posted by Leonardo Miceli (Member # 4417) on 09-21-2012, 02:15 PM:
I had this issue a couple of times, it is a problem with the Enigma/link decryptor board, when is running out of memory because it can't eliminate some logs. if you are using a Doremi server, you need to ingest a hotfix, so the server can eliminate the logs.
Posted by Marco Giustini (Member # 4544) on 09-21-2012, 04:05 PM:
depending on the version, the doremi is purging the logs when it's been idle for a while. If not mistaken the is now an option under Dignostic tool where you can manually purge the logs.

The TI Link decryptor probably was corrupted while was FW 1.4, and if you update it to 1.6 the problem will still into the board. With Doremi SW 2.2.5 and FW 21.3r (DCP2000) there is a possibility to clean the log file manually: diagnostic tool > "Media Block" tab > advanced, also you can check the dimension of log file downloading it. When the file dimension reach max 2,3 MB and after purge it the dimension doesn't change, you must change Enigma.

it would be nice there was a "recovery" procedure for the Enigma as well. Something that wipes it out and reinstall everything, like the ICP one.
