Hi all

I think our CP750 has developed some sort of random fault, but would like either confirmation and/or ideas on what may be causing it

Basically, the "valid" light for the "Digital 2" input is randomly flashing - even with nothing connected except the server audio, ethernet and power (and output, obviously)

It does not seem to be causing any glitching during playback, and if i connect a bluray player to the digital 2 input the light stays lit for as long as the bluray is powered. If i turn off the bluray, byut leave it connected, it randomly flashes again.

There does not seem to be any effect on to output sound, but im concerned it might escalate...

any thoughts?

EDIT: its running the latest 1.2.8.3 firmware

Interesting issue! Has anything changed in the system that could be tied to this issue (new equipment, new wiring, etc.)?

Does it flash WITH and WITHOUT the switched of BR-Player connected?

I wouldn't care and I can hardly see a reason to assume 'escalation'.

A couple of weeks ago I tried to install one with a flashing dig4 light. I wasn't too worried about that, but it also would not enter "alignment" mode... so more was wrong. It also would not upload firmware. I returned that one for repair. If it's under warranty I would get it fixed now before the warranty expires. Possibly Dolby will send a replacement that you can just load the config file into?

I have seen the odd front panel issue. If under warranty (particularly if under 30-days), I would get it fixed/changed out. Even if it isn't affecting the sound, it should work properly. Furthermore, if they have to handle it under RXO...they will likely find the issue and address it for future units (again, you are not the only one this has happened to).

Harold - nope, nothing has changed. It just started doing it last week.

Carsten - it flashes with nothing connected to any of the Digital 2/3/4 inputs, with/without HI connected and while idle and during playback. Connecting the bluray player and keeping it on is the only thing that sops it flashing

Dave - it was purchased new, and installed in december so definitely within warranty. It came with 1.2.8.3 firmware from the box. I do have a backup of its config file, so if we do get a replace/return I can just reload it. Question though, does the config file also store the EQ ?

Steve - thanks for letting me know im not the only one!

We are a single screen, and aside from our CP45 for the Vic5 the 750 is our only processor, so i can't do without one or we would have to lose shows

Under warranty Dolby should supply an advance replacement.

Don't leave it - I've found Dolby's repair service to be pretty poor lately... Long waits for an RMA, long waits for equipment to be repaired and returned. And if it's out of warranty, you'll have no DAC while you're waiting.

Yes, the .dlb file contains the EQ. As far as I know it has all configuration and tuning data. For some reason network settings are not saved though.

Well, it seems that some customers were noticing some sound glitching.

Very prompt response from our suppliers and installers, a new unit is on its way!
