Hi all!. I follow this forum from a lot of time, but not registered until today. I need help from all of you, and hope can help me!.

I have created a MultiCPL DCP from the last build of the Software that I use, and before I can use it in production for my clients, need to test it in real enviroment.

The MultiCPL DCP have been tested in Doremi Server and works, but need to make some test more, so If you can download, test it, and tell me something, I gratefully you!.

There is the file:

http://www.timelapses.es/dcp/MULTIDCP01_TST-1_S_ES-XX_ES_51_2K_20130411_TL_OV.rar

Uncompress it and well, I think that you know how to proceed :-)

Thanks in advance!

I guess Brad won't like this direct link in here, but nevertheless, I guess I can test it on a Sony 515/S10 today.

Thanks both!.

Aleksandar, If you can test over these Doremi, will be fine, as I need all test you can done over different FW and SW versions, so test it, of course!

Carsten, ok, thanks!

Thanks you in advance, people!

Antonio,

I have Doremi DCP2000 & 2K4 here with Christie projectors. Firmware, security manager and software versions are latest ones.

You will have info tomorrow and on Wednesday you will have info how it was played on Barco Solo G3 (it is 500km from my current position [Smile] )

BTW which kind of software you used to create this multi cpl dcp?

@Carsten
Can you tell me what's the price for sony 515 and do you know is it able to work as rear projection projector?

BR Alexander

I can at least tell that this DCP ingests fine on a Sony SRX-R515/XCT-S10.

I did not have the time to actually play every CPL before our afternoon program started. I made screenshots, can send them around so you can see how it actually shows up on the Sony.

Aleksandar - the list price for the Sony incl. Lens, Server/Storage and UPS is around 45.000€ - but I have seen offers the same incl. pedestal, installation and 3 years warranty already, so direction is 40.000€ for single machines.

Rearprojection - I don't know, at least it doesn't have a clear 'projection orientation' setting in the current GUI. I did not do the geometric setup myself, so I'm not fluent in all setup parameters yet, though I might look into it to find something.

Anyway - given the projection quality, I would think that this is not THE machine for rearprojection, it shines at frontpro due to 4k and the very high contrast.
There is a wide angle lens, but I think DLPs are doing better there.

Hey, thanks again!

Aleksander, Iīm using DCPpro, that is using for a very few people but that camplaint with the DCI at 100% as one of the "mentors" of the Software is John Hurts ;-), one of the Fathers of the DCP...

Carsen, very good notices, thanks!. Iīm wait for the play and so 100% sure that works!

I have a semi sucess in one Qube server. Recognize all six DCPs, but donīt ingest it. There is a bar progress, and in all of them there is a "0% transient error"...

Hum!

Everything ran fine, Anything specific to watch for?

Doremi DCP 2000
FW 21.4h
SW 2.2.5-0

Hi Richard, thanks for your test!. No, nothins special to watch, only testing for ingest and play.

Itīs curious that THIS DCP appears to be wrong (as the dcp-inspect says), because no HASH provided in one of the MXF (bug to be fixed), and Doremy and Sony servers can run it :-)

Looking for some other servers!

I can now confirm all clips play fine on the Sony SRX-R515, incl. subtitles (well, at least those subtitles that I saw ;-)

Also the spanish 'Ą' showed up. At least I think it was intentional ;-)

Sooo Good Carlsten, very good!, thanks!.

The "Ą" Character is our "open admiration". In Spanish there is opening and closing symbols for questions and admirations ;-)

ĄMuchas gracias! ;-)

Ok folks, thanks to your valuable help the programmer have fixed some bugs. Here is a NEW DCP Multicpl, use it instead the other:

Thanks in advance!

Issue's not fixed. dcp_inspect says:

quote:

Also see these:

quote:
Hint: CPL 75c7a7ee-a651-49ef-aa23-22086ed91854: IssueDate "2067-08-29T21:17:25+00:00" in the future: Ahead of now (2013-04-16T11:47:10+02:00) by over 54 years

and

quote:
Info: CPL 153d09cf-45a6-42e8-81ca-a5d96e405781: Composition MULTIDCP01_TST-2_S_ES-XX_ES_51_2K_20130411_TL_OV was issued about 32 years ago

as you have "2067-08-29T21:17:26+00:00" in five compositions and "1981-04-07T04:30:21+00:00" in one.

These IssueDates should not be a problem, most machines don't care. Still, they're probably unintended. And who knows, the Qube is one strict piece of gear.

Fix the PKL/Hash value issue and you should be good on the Qube.

Ok Folks, third test:

http://www.timelapses.es/dcp/MULTIDCP01_TST-3_S_ES-XX_ES_51_2K_20130411_TL_OV.rar

I think that this will be 100% correct. Feel free to test it and report about it :-)

If you want to issue DCPs in the Future, tools like Wolfgangs dcp_inspect would be useful I guess. Even with a working software, issues can come up anytime.

A formal QC should be done on any DCP that leaves the house.

Yes Carlsten, this last test have passed DCP-Inspect and no error at all, but I think that the DCP need to be tested in his medium, that is the Cinema Server :-)

I am pretty sure that this third DCP will work in *all* servers, but to make sure, your help (if you want) is very valuable.

Donīt worry, not more test ;-)

Hello Antonio,

the test film doesn't work on dolby servers.
It doesn't show up in the list of available content for playback (not like not licencend but not in the list).

Posted by Wolfgang Woehl (Member # 6901) on 04-20-2013, 09:22 AM:

Btw, this in all 3 versions:
quote:
Hint: AM 2bb72934-f4d5-45e8-8de7-9e034673f96f: Asset 328d3f71-3ccb-4b18-a4ac-a7e558dc0523: Filename "328d3f71-3ccb-4b18-a4ac-a7e558dc0523/timelapselogo_Spanish - Castilian_328d3f71-3ccb-4b18-a4ac-a7e558dc0523.xml" contains whitespace
Kris, which model? Which version? All of them? [Smile]

Posted by Antonio Casado (Member # 7592) on 04-20-2013, 09:33 AM:

Thanks Kris...really strange that, isnīt?.

In other side, Wolfgang, these "hint" might not to be an error but a suggestion to avoid some characters?. Is the name of the subtitle file (the XML)

Posted by Dave Macaulay (Member # 813) on 04-20-2013, 10:20 AM:

There are spaces in there "Spanish - Castilian" that are probably not desirable. I don't know that they are disallowed for sure but I have noticed that in DCPs I inspect there are never any spaces in any of the file names, they use the undercore "_" character a lot.

Posted by Antonio Casado (Member # 7592) on 04-20-2013, 10:25 AM:

Hum, I understand. Well, this is very easy to fix, as rename the file (and then make the DCP again), but better it the Software make it itself :-)

Thanks!

Posted by Kris Verhanneman (Member # 5562) on 04-20-2013, 12:37 PM:

I can load the DCP on the server. Content is ingested and verified and then nothing. Nothing comes up in the list of clips (but the ingest is "done").

Posted by Antonio Casado (Member # 7592) on 04-20-2013, 12:41 PM:

Hum, strange. I have named it under "TEST" type (TST). Have checked that you can see this type of DCPs?. I see that Dolby servers can hide type of DCPs, to easily find the correct one...

Posted by Kris Verhanneman (Member # 5562) on 04-21-2013, 01:05 AM:

No it did not came up under the different test clips.

Posted by Kris Verhanneman (Member # 5562) on 04-21-2013, 03:39 AM:

Okay rebooted the TMS and now the clips are well there.
DCP works just fine.

I tried your files on a Dolby DSS200 today. No problems!

Posted by Antonio Casado (Member # 7592) on 04-26-2013, 01:55 AM:

Thanks Jim!. Do you have see the subtitles?. It works?.

Strange that other user have tested in some Dolby Servers and donīt worked. Hum!.

Also, my mate Steve have tested in some Dolby servers too and they worked, but subtitles not display.
