My colleague, while trying to help has loaded an incorrect KDM we have been sent for a feature in a few weeks.

The KDM he has loaded is incorrect as it does not cover all the days the film will be screened. We have requested a new KDM for the proper dates, but what will the system (DSS200) do with 2 KDMs for one film with overlapping dates?

I cant delete the incorrect one without deleting all the loaded licenses which I don't really want to do

Not 100% sure but I believe it will sort them out, allowing you to screen the film regularly as you had just one KDM for the whole time.

I do a lot of advance private screenings for the press and I believe I've had
keys that overlap because there are often multiple screenings of the same
film over a period of several days, and somtimes the exact times and dates
of a particular screening are determined at the last minute.

I think you'll be "OK" & the server can figure it out, as Marco suggested.

What happens when you check on the license status? Does it say "pending"
or "future"? for each (or both) of the licences? If so, you should be OK.

If it sez "missing" or doesn't show up at all, then mabye you've got a problem.

Jim -

the server just says "future" for the one we have already loaded. The other KDM has not arrived yet.

Well, I guess you'll have to wait till you load the 2nd KDM & see
what happens! Hopefully, if you do have a problem, you'll have time to
resolve the issue with the distributor before you need to do your show.

We have this happen all the time.

When extending (holding over) a movie we brought in on release, we will frequently get new keys which extend the shut-down time, but have the same start time as the original. Our (Doremi) server does not replace the original key, but runs it out and then starts the newer one.

your dolby server will work just fine. When you recieve the new keys you will see that both periods will show up in the licence status. When the first key expires it will just be removed by the server. If both keys overlap it will continue to be able to play during the whole period. If they do not overlap there will a periode that you cannot start the feature.
