A question came up about the UXL20S and the DXL20S digital lamps. What is the warranty on these lamps 2400 or 3000 hours? All the paperwork is in Japanese.

I'm not sure exactly which lamps you're referring to (I only see sn or srx, not s), but you can usually find all of the lamp details you'll need on Ushio's website: http://ushio.com/products/cinema/index.htm

I recently replaced a lamp on our Barco to a Ushio DXL20-BAF2 which wasn't listed clearly on ushio's product sheets so I made some enquiries

Managed to get in direct contact with the UK sales manager who was very prompt in clarifying the situation.

On their website sheets, it listed a "100% warranty hours" as 3000 wheras the barco projector reports a warranty life of 2400 when the lamp information was updated.

He confirmed in writing that the 2400 hours covers all warranty failures - burst, flicker, strike + mirror damage.

the 3000 hours listed on the website will cover just burst and strike issues. Mirror damage is also covered up to 3000 hours.

Essentially, the only thing they don't cover in that extra 600 hours is flicker.

hope this helps
