How long it lasts depends on your conditions. Audience access/distance, heating/HVAC systems, changes in temperature, etc.

The surface of silverscreens is a delicate structure. Technically you wouldn't even call it 'surface'. If you have a curtain, I would leave that closed always during non-show times.

Good observation about HVAC.

We once had an indoor that had all its return ducting located behind the screens. You can imagine what the surface of the screens looked like, after years of having at least part of the HVAC return air being pulled through them.

with care you can just about remove loose dust with a very soft brush, but that's about it; trying to remove fingerprints, or anything else, will almost certainly ruin the screen.

I have a silver screen that was washed ...
Washing can reduce the polarity capability too? Can't it?

Any mechanical impact on the surface will reduce polarisation.
You should make it clear to anyone with a chance coming close to the screen that under no circumstance ever someone should touch, clean, etc. it without asking you in advance.
