Apparently Deluxe is actively trying to determine this.

Seriously guys, do you not understand that you can't just keep slapping new labels on top of the old labels? Don't be so lazy. The drives will get jammed into the CRU bays with a bunch of labels stuck on top of older labels like that. Complaining to you doesn't work, so maybe pointing this out publicly will make some sort of difference.

I had one the other day where the label on top of the pile started to peel back when I pulled it out of the bay; got bits of label stuck on the little roller wheels, which I had a bit of a chore to clean off.

I'm thinking that I'll have to start tearing the labels off before putting them into the machine in the future if they're in that condition.

Doesn't really need a label at all, just a permanent serial number. The movie name and the number could go on to the box shipping label, and the booth person can match the number to the drive when repacking. We're already dealing with stupid "code names" anyway so it's pretty close to the same thing.

A sticker is not bad, serial numbers only create too much work. If only they would use easy-off stickers.

Or maybe they could use rewritable labels?

What gets me is when the sticker is applied half to the drive caddy itself and half to the USB dock - so you have to break the sticker to put the caddy in the server.

I always tear the stickers off when I put the drives in.

The real bitch is when the screws are coming loose out of the carriage. I always double check the screws before I put any of the drives in now after getting one stuck on a loose screw.
