We just noticed a problem this past sunday that had forced us to cancel a few shows since.

The Solaria One + is pulsating in and out of focus. The tech guy from Chrisite suggested it might be a fan creating a slight vibration. Anyone encounter this problem before and how did you fix it ???

I've not seen the effect you mention, but would just offer this thought. A single step on the focus value makes an imperceptible difference. However if you move a single step in the opposite direction to the one you last moved in, the focus stepper performs like a mini recalibrate to ensure any slack is taken out. (The shift steppers also behave in this way.) Could what you're seeing be due to a false perpetual re-triggering of this mechanism? As a work around, might it be possible to unplug the focus stepper?

Had this problem on a CP2200. It was indeed the fans.

On a side note, i'm starting to really question Christie's quality and reliability. We bought a DHD800 last year and we're on the 4th replacement. Now the Solaria One + is giving us problem after 6 months.

We're looking for 2 new projectors and at this point i'm not sure i want to go with Christie. Any suggestions ? How about Barco, Sony ?? I need something RELIABLE.

I can't see any risk in taking a 2210/2215, 2220 or 2230. They are rock solid, with the 2220 probably being the most sold machine type of all. You can't go wrong with it if you think of all the obvious implications of these numbers. Longetivity, spare parts, field proven, available operational and service knowledge, etc.

The solaria one(+) as it seems is just a very different thing. Seems Christie really did cut a corner with it.

That said, we're quite happy with our Sony 515. For how long, we will see ;-)

I concur on the 2220. Been working with one for over a year without a single issue.Doremi server on the other hand...many minor glitches but no show stoppers yet. [Smile]
