Hi all,
A couple of people have shown an interest in an on-line service to create small DCPs (e.g. for advertising, short films and so on). I've made a simple site (powered by DCP-o-matic) which is here:
http://cine-matic.com/
The idea is basically DCP-o-matic online: you upload your content and download your DCP.
If anyone would like to sign up and give it a try it will be free for beta testers (though I'll limit the number of users for now).
Any comments are welcome.

Great idea!
There's a nice article about DCP-O-Matic in the latest issue of Cinema Technology Magazine (online here: http://emag.cinematechnologymagazine.com/index.aspx?issue=issue25)
you do need to register but it is free.

Gavin: stills should be ok now.

Philip - that link doesn't work, and if you go to the magazine's website and click on the link to register, it leads to an error message (For me at least!)
Edit: If you go to:
http://emag.cinematechnologymagazine.com/index.aspx
Then click to read the latest issue, after a couple of pages it asks for a log-in and gives you a link to register....THAT one works!

I really don't like these fancy magazine web pages. Do we REALLY need sound effects as we watch the page turn? Just show me a pdf!
Meanwhile, the online DCP generator is indeed an interesting idea! It seems that upload and download times could get a bit long. USL creates a fair number of DCPs for internal use. We're considering offering a DCP creation service. Would that be of interest to anyone?
THANKS!
Harold

Thanks Mike - think the stray ) at the end is why it's not working. It's past the time for editing the post now though

Harold: Yes, that Pressmart Reader is a pain in the ass, but you can click 'Save' in the upper menu and choose 'download entire magazine' - this will create a local PDF version.
