We are experiencing very thin red and blue ghosting lines on a Christie CP2230 projector. The problem was occasional at the beginning and would disappear after Power Off/Power On. It has now become permanent.
Does anybody have an idea about possible causes for this phenomenon ?

Normally, I'd suspect convergence but those don't get better after things warm up.

Color is controlled by the ICP as well as the formatters in the light engine itself (though unlikely in this case since you have multiple colors...they odds that two colors are having problems due to a formatters on separate boards is very low). It is also possible that the ICP is receiving bad data causing the fringing. Step one, put up test patterns...Christie has some good ones built in with white lines on a black background. If they are clean, the it is NOT the ICP or light engine (and obviously, not convergence). If that is the case, you need to look upstream, the mediablock of the system (server or IMB) is likely the source of it or possibly the cabling. Reseating the the PIB, ICP, (and IMB) could prove fruitful though you WILL need marriage privileges to restore the projector to operational status. The fact that warming up had some effect indicates some form of thermal relationship including a contact or contacts that are intermittent. Note, even pressing in on the modules with a steady pattern up (can even be a freeze frame of a movie) can be instructional.

Txs for the hints. The problem appeared on input from the Doremi Server via SDI and input from the scaler via DVI. So the problem must have it's origin in the projector. Did as you asked: reseated the PIB and ICP. Changed the air filters as well.
Tested a whole movie without incident. Hopefully the problem is solved.
