Hello guys as usually i have a question.

i would like to install a dolby 3D wheel on my 15C Barco and i check the configuration on 3 diferent barco projectors that already have dolby 3D installed and all have diferent settings.
is there a standar configuration to use?

Hi,

There is nothing like a "standard" in digital cinema world, because everyone has their own standards and beliefs and all.
Anyway, these are settings that does work for me:
Multiplication : 6:2
Dark time: 650
Output reference delay: 2500

If I am correct in Dolby documentation it says that it should be like this:
Dark time :780
Output ref delay: 0

What settings does your projector have?

In theory, the dark time could be standardized but the delay cannot. That is dependent on where the filter wheel was secured to the motor so that will be different for everybody.

I will generally hand-tweek the dark time and get the delay just right to minimize dark time which yields the brightest picture. But you need to get it right or you will have ghosting.

Dolby is going to be more apt to recommend a longer dark time to ensure that you don't ghost.

The dark time needed is also dependent on the size of the filter wheel as well as the speed based on the 3D being used. (24fps triple flash is going to be different than 48fps double flash, for example).
