Barco 12C/15C/20C: There's a fuse holder in the electronics input power connector (either the power jumper or a UPS plugs into it) that has had a lot of failures. If you have any of these projectors, unscrew and remove the fuse and look for any discoloration or corrosion on the inside fuse end. You should clean the fuse ends and reverse any with damage: the inside end is the problem end. This should be done at every 6-month service.
If the fuse is stuck in there - it should come out with the cap - the fuseholder is probably close to failure. The projector may spontaneously reboot or just shut down. The fuse may blow from overheating because of poor contact. This fuseholder/plug assembly is not cheap, so get bad ones replaced before warranty runs out.

Thanks for the tip...I've never had a single issue but you now have me quite concerned (didn't even know there was a fuse in there!)

I just checked a manual and it states that the SUPPLY outlet (lower one) is what is protected by 5.5A...since we use a UPS on almost all of our installations, perhaps that is why we haven't had this problem since the fuse appears to be on the supply that we are not using.

Have you had this problem on your sites with UPSes?

Aha! you're right, it is the outlet one for the no-ups jumper - not the electronics power inlet. So a UPS would not have this problem. UPS on this is pretty uncommon here, the few that have them will not be affected.

Thx for the tip. Have to check my units out since I have all three in my location. Guess this issue had no effect with the "B" series where I have the 23 and 32B units also ... - Monte
