Got an odd fault at a multiplex using a range of S2 NEC machines. They had the site network firewall updated to allow for quicker transactions on the tills. The TMS network is connected to the outside via the site firewall. Anyway as soon as the update went on, transport error 745 connection on the 2 3240 machines, take them off the network and they work fine. 2 weeks later, 2 2000C with IMB stop sending cues to the projectors. Off the network they are fine.
IT engineers, NEC, dolby, site engineers can't find what's wrong.
Anybody had something similar?

I'm just wildly guessing here. But this firewall update, did it maybe, open up directly exposed ports on those IMBs to the outside? Maybe some scriptkiddie probing traffic from the outside is causing havoc on those machines/cards.

i Agree with Marcell
Firewall should only be open on certain ports for TMS/NOC Services if required by customer, not every port.
1. Try recheck the firewall configuration with customer to ensure that they open port only for the required communication they need.

2. Check the local LAN network in the cinema to ensure the server can communicate with automation or the devices required

I have seen this kind of issues. The tms was making too many requests to the servers.
