This has happened twice recently. A reboot takes care of the problem, but it seems it's just a matter of time before this crops up again. The image is clear, just tinted purple, as if the green pixels have taken a holiday, but only on the right half of the image.

Anyone have this happen? Can an update solve it? I have no idea how to install an update in this machine. It seems everything must be done with a laptop. I ask because I'm getting no answer from the tech who services us.

It may be just a matter of reseating some boards, but from what you are writing I guess you need a tech to do that.

Yep... One of my Barco 23B's turned BLUE about this time last year. The fix was as simple as shutting everything down, re-seating all of the boards on the operator side of the machine and re-booting.

In my situation, the machines had been sitting in an air conditioned booth all summer long, and when we finally turned the heat on inside the building, the expansion and contraction on the projector caused by the heat and air system was just enough to cause one of the boards to creep. Only happened on one of my machines - not both.

Ask your tech to pull up the "NC2500S-A: EFIB Types for 1/2 Image Countermeasure" service bulletin from NEC's site. If your projector was manufactured before mid 2008, it may need a new EFIB board.

Thank you gentlemen for your replies. It appears that Jason hit the nail on the head. The unit was manufactured in 2006 and our tech will attend to this shortly once he receives a new board.
