Hi guys, I'm wanting to add a cue at the beginning of a playlist that sets the audio processor to say, 5.0 and then at the beginning of the feature to 7.0.

How would one go about doing this if using the JSD60 processor with Christie Series 2 projectors with Christie IMBs?

Note that commands are all lower case. Word wanted to capitalize them. That's fixed in the next manual version.

None of my Christie's have USL devices in the "add automation device" listing. Any other advice?

Not familiar with the Christie internal server, but there should be a "raw" device or similar available that you can configure to connect to just about anything. With all Doremi servers you set this up with a name and communication setting, and then you can send it messages. There aren't any USL or Dolby devices available on a Doremi either, when new.

Doremi has (had?) premade cueslib files for some Dolby processors and other devices they would send if asked, but the command set these include is usually insufficient. Creating a cueslib file is fairly easy in the server (I prefer to use a text or xml editor) but nowhere near as easy as just copying one into a server... probably most techs or service orgs with a lot of Doremis to look after have their own library of cueslibs.
Something for the film-tech warehouse?

The Christie IMS has predefined level and format macros for Dolby CP650, 750 and 850. It does allow to send raw commands as well. So follow Christies IMS manual in the 'Manage Automation' section and Harolds link to the JSD60 syntax. The IMS macro editor allows you to choose destination IP-Address and port number.

Make sure you are logged in as service. It may not allow you to edit at a lower level. You need to be menu>christie IMB>system>automation>devices:
1. Tap Menu>Christie IMB>System.
2. Tap Automation>Devices.
3. Tap Add.
4. Select a device.
5. Tap Accept.
6. Enter a name for the device and then tap Enter.
7. Complete the Name, IP Address, Username, Password, and Serial Command Port fields.
8. Tap Save.

And for custom cues this example for 750:

If you need to control additional functions and a built-in command is not available, send a command
string in a macro. For example, send this command to enable surround boost on the Dolby CP750:
cp750.sys.surround_boost 1\0D

Check the JSD-60 manual for port # and end of string characters. It can be done I did it on an install several years back.

Andrew - it is hard to get it working at first. Start with a simple command like 'Mute On' or something similar. Change, test, change, test. Once it works, it is easy to move on.

Try this string for 7.0

Jsd60.sys.fader\09700\0D or Jsd60.sys.fader\t700\0D Replace the 700 with 500 for 5.0 fader.

Note that Microsoft Word decided Jsd needed to be capitalized. So, that's the way it is in the current manual. It is fixed in the next one. Commands for the jsd60 are all lower case. So, the command to set the fader to 7.0 is

jsd60.sys.fader\09700\0D

\09 is the tab character, and \0D is carriage return. Note that the JSD-60 and most USL products accept automation commands on TCP port 10001.
