Hai just a quick question about adjusting the lens on my NC1600C, Last night after the show I ran our first DVD to see what its like but the image was a couple of foot below the screen area, I was going adjust the lens up to position the image onto the screen but I am worried if it will affect the image settings we already have (make our image go above the screen by 2ft)so I just let it be, cause with my luck it's bound to show an image where no image has ever been screened before and it will never come back to how it is now ;-) we are having someone having their 80th birtday here and they want to watch some old family movies on DvD here. There are several ways to do the presets - usually the preset buttons will call a lens memory when pressed, so manually changing the lens settings only lasts until you press a preset button again. Easy to test, just shift the lens up then press the preset button: the image should go back where it started.
You can set up the presets without lens memory but this is unusual in my experience.
Setting it back if you're only adjusting shift is easy, at least.

Frank, On my 1600C the installer set up 2 settings for DVD use thru the DVIA connector.
Thus I have 2 choices of either DVIA Flat or DVIB Scope so whenever I want to screen a DVD in either format it is only a button press and it goes exactly to the correct size and screen position.
Like Dave has explained you can simply shift the lens up/down by the lens control buttons and even adjust focus if need be in any of the formats and that adjustment you did via the buttons is lost whenever a preset lens position is selected again.

Frank, it's actually really easy to do. Just set your focus/shift/zoom as desired, then save it under the Memory List button - give it a name like DVD. If you run DVDs frequently enough, you can even build a macro - using a front panel button if you choose - which will automatically execute the lens file, change input, and so forth.
