I'm just curious to know what apps are available to interface with various digital cinema equipment - or which ones have a web interface.

I have the Dolby app to interface with the CP750. This is available from Google Play.

I have a VNC app to interface with the GDC servers.

NEC projectors have a web interface which allows you to change formats and power on/off the lamp and projector.

The Christie ACT has a web interface which can be used in a mobile browser - although it's somewhat difficult to use on a small screen.

I am particularly interested in something for the Barco 32B and the USL JSD-60.

The JSD-60 has a web interface. I prefer web interfaces to having a hundred different applications. You can set up a bookmark page with folders for each auditorium and each piece of auditorium equipment in that bookmark folder. The web interfaces are also cross-platform to work with any OS.

Do they not have an iOS version of that app? Dolby's audio encoding software packages are MacOS only. IMHO that's been a big mistake considering all the enterprise level Blu-ray authoring applications are Windows-only. DTS has their Master Audio suite available for MacOS and Windows.

The CP750 app is not in-house but by a private developer. QSC has an app for their DCP processors.

Barco has Communicator lite for their S2K projectors but nothing for their larger stuff. They do have a web page but it has VERY limited value and no projector control.

I can see the proponents of the web interface though I normally have found them to be quite a bit inferior to purpose built apps. I've never liked Christie's Web/VNC interfaces as much as Barco's Communicator or even NEC's DCC.

Harold, is there any plan to make the Web Interface available for the JSD-100 unit?
This would make some of my customers very happy...

The JSD-100 has always had the web interface. Just type the processor's IP address in your web browser address bar. Its functionality depends on the firmware version of the JSD-100. Later versions allow control of format switching and fader; earlier versions allowed monitoring only.

I'll testify that, at least with the Solaria One, Christie's Web interface is just plain wonky. At least with us, it freezes frequently, requiring a reconnect. Dragging and dropping works fitfully, often deciding on its own what it will be dragging and or dropping. The whole interface feels crude and incomplete.

We use Screens for iPhone/Ipad access via VNC. Not slick or graceful, but works.
