So for the last year and a half two years, I´ve been using DCP-o_Matic like crazy.

We do manly festivals so everithing we get is mostly files or Blurays and I can say since DCP-o-Matic I have never screened either again.

With the latest improvements in Subs it´s got even better.

But i´m curious about something. We have 2 Doremi servers, DCP2000 and IMB with Shovawlt, and everybody says theese servers are very adaptable to all kinds of DCP, drives frame rates ETC.

I was wondering if you guys who have diferent servers and configurations, and use DCP-o-matic frequently, how is it working out? Problems ingesting? Problems on playback? no problems at all?

What is your final veredict on this program?

I worked with GDC, Dolby and Doremi servers and never had a problem with a DCP made with DCP-o-Matic.

All Christie IMBs/Series 2 projectors, and DCP-o_matic DCPs work flawlessly 100% of the time.

No problems on this end with GDC and Doremi servers. All of my content comes from clients who want to do presentations that are originally in the MP4 format. I have done .MOV and .AVI files without any problems also.

Just like to get mono playback from center speaker than the L/R default setup.

DCP-o-Matic is a great tool. We convert commercials to DCP. There may be some flashing between clips that have different frame rates. It's especially ugly when you run different frame rate clips in Dolby 3D. I now ask all clips before converting them to DCP to have 24fps frame rate.

besides the regulars, best pros:
-handles mxf!
-audio gain!!
-new sub feature!!!

cons:
-randomly get m2t/mpeg2 non-synchronised with sound

love it

Monte, in the latest versions of DCP-o-Matic you should be able to route sound to any channel you want.

Great program, I use it weekly to update our Preshow. The new audio matrixing feature is great too... however I don't understand how filter "A" would sound good in any purpose?

As far as I can work out that is not DCP-o-matic's fault, but I'd be interested to hear otherwise.

using any of these methods and we can try to fix it.

This was included for testing, really. Some users have said they like it. How does it sound to you?

You cannot change frame rates without losing sync in the projector itself. This is not a DCP O MATIC problem. It would be nice if there was a way for the projectors to blank their image when they lose sync on frame rate changes. There is nothing stopping one from putting in dowser close/open commands in their show to avoid the flash. Though I don't like using dousers that much in a show...there is the chance it won't open.

Steve, what you said is true for the DLP world.

Never had a problem with SRX220 and later models 320/510/515. No flashing, no white oder green screens between different framerate content.

Flashing between different frame rate clips is not DCP-o-Matic fault. It's related to projector or its software. My mistake I didn't point it out in my post.

Our 3 Barco DP2K-10S's do not flash between framerates. However our DP4K-23B does flash. Go figure.

It sounds incredibly tinny to me. I think the rolloff may be too harsh. Filter B which is a simpler matrix effect, sounds correct and full.

What is your server on the different systems? I'm curious if you check your ICP frame rate if it is changing or if something doing a frame rate conversion.

Just tested the first stereo to 5.1 mix up...

It souns like it has lost all low freq. The dialogs are on the center ch and there is something on the sorround...

Going to use the "b" up mix now...and see how it come out.
