Hi guys,
I have a question about doremi (DP2000 or showvault).
Is there any way to create automatic cue that the playback for certain movie will start after for example 6 minutes or so? I have found cues for pause, rewind, skip the whole playback but not cue to jump to certain playback time.
If anyone of you have a trick how to do this, please let me know.
Thanks
Michal

Well, I guess the dark side doesn't want you to do that...

There is a method for doing this in GDC servers, so I'm not sure it's a restriction imposed by the Dark Side...
I've only used it to pick certain parts out of a test pattern DCP (i.e. the GDC Pink Noise DCP that rotates 10 seconds through each channel, but sometimes you just want to hear two or three channels continuously, so you can set in and out points so you don't have to wait for it to play all the channels)...
The other time I wish I'd known about it (and knowing Film Festivals it may come in handy again), is that you could use it to clip the unnecessary Countdown-Leader off the front of a DCP. (I had such a DCP supplied a year or two back. I'm guessing this particular DCP was made from an export that had been produced for a HDCAM or something).

Yep, the 'Start Frame' Button allows you to jump into a clip, but it's not versatile enough to skip arbitrary parts of a CPL under playlist control. Where/how would you set 'out points' on a GDC?
I guess the intention is indeed to jump over bars/tones, copyright reminders, etc.
Sure it's a nice to have.

Out point can be set in the same 'Start-Frame' window; in there you should also find an End-Frame button...
No, the Start-Frame feature probably can't be used to skip arbitrary parts of a CPL, but it can quite easily be used to set the start point at 6 minutes in as per OP example.
But I agree, the intention is probably for skipping tone/bars etc, for which it is very useful.
