Hi guys,

I am about to replace integrator rod in Barco 20C projector. I have seen the manual, but I have decided to ask you if you have any tips and tricks on replacing the integrator? What to be carefull about etc.

I know that it can go really wrong if you dont do it properly, so I want to be prepared.

Thank you

Michal

I've done it and don't remember it as having any tricks. Just follow the manual, and try to do it somewhere fairly clean.
I don't know if this is common, but I found one with the small lens after the integrator cracked in half. Take a look at everything in there when the cover is off.

Barco now sells the lens(es) as a service part(s) too.

Interesting... found one of those lenses cracked in half too! No apparent effect on a white field though - not sure on light level.
Sounds like a common issue now!

In Mexico, in Cinepolis during the last half of 2013 hundreds of these crystals was changed by manufacturing defect, was the argument of Barco at the time.

I only ever had one fail and it was in a Series one Christie ZX. For what ever reason a chip fell out of the corner of the input end of the rod. Christies are about the easiest to replace out there.

Miguel,

Interesting, thanks. It would have been nice to have an info-T so we could check projectors on field while servicing.
