The SNR for the satellite signal seems to be fluctuating a lot, the signal itself is constant at 78% though. The SNR for the most part sits around 60% but can fluctuate between 4% and 100%. It happened during our last live and we had problems with the picture and sound (I wasn't there but was given the lowdown after).

What's going on here? I've read it might be cables or connectors. I've never seen the dish setup (it's on another building altogether) but I know the signal gets to the Lansat over a fibre cable.

We had a similar problem which turned out to be a missing bolt on the dish stand. When the wind blew, the dish moved slightly causing a poor signal.

Interesting, we had terrible problems last time because of wind. The dish has been reinforced since then but we're still getting these fluctuations even when the weather is mild.

Are fluctuations in the SNR a normal thing? I tried a channel today and the picture seemed fine even thoughthe SNR was all over the place.

I too get signal problems in wind and am or was about to try build a brace for the dish, though we have nothing loose it does vibrate in the wind. Another of our sites sheered a bolt during the strong winds in Yorkshire a few weeks back and lost everything; it was only 1 degree out, but that over 1000s of miles to the satellite is way out of whack!

Just doing test for NT Live 'As you like it'. LANsat SNR is at 85% and Signal at 80% seems stable with no fluctuations if that helps in anyway as a comparison to your setup.

Me too. We might need to move our dish, somethings going on somewhere. The SNR is still jumping but the broadcast is playing perfectly which is good news!

Glad your shows holding up, hope it stays that way. We currently have a very Stable SNR of 95% and Quality of 81% to 87%. What size dish are you using ?

To be honest I don't know! I had nothing to do with it's instillation and our I.T department have been dealing with it ever since. Glad to know your show is going well too.
