Hi. When I became the manager/projectionist of my theater I was thrown in and taught myself most of what i needed to know. I have most definitely used both 45fl files and 7fl files. Can anyone tell me what the difference is. Is it the type of 3D box?

Welcome. The difference is how the content was created for 3D showing to bring out more brightness to the screen in the digital feature.

Some projectors only can use the 4.5fl content, why of the two versions.

Trade name is Xtra Bright for the 7fl releases.

If any doubt or question, just use the 4.5fl file for 3D presentations.

And if you're not sure if you have the xtra-brite or not, just try both. If you don't have xtra-brite, the picture will be darker with the 7fl (or 6fl) version. Just use the version that looks the brightest.

The images are slightly different to give a better image for either lower brightness or higher brightness screens. With the "wrong" one you will get poor detail in dark areas and/or worse ghosting in high contrast areas.

These differences are certainly small, and will only be visible in special scenes, usually the more dark ones.
