For backup pourposes we have the above mentioned. A few days ago the software was automaticly updated and now we have DSM 6.0-7321 version.
The problem is that after the update, it didn´t recognise the format of all of our removable HDD with the films inside (at least, the ones for the major distributors).

The hardware was ok because in control panel, was visible a external disc conected via USB which was normal but the format system (ext2) was not supported.

I checked with one external HDD of a small distribution company (one you cand find for consumers) and there was no problem because it was formated in FAT 32.

I´ve just contacted with Synology support but it will take 3 to 5 days to give me an answer so I decided to share this with you to see if someone can help.

P. S. Sorry for my english and for my long absence in this forum. I was a victim of the digital projection, but happily, I´m back where I belong...a projection booth

I would NEVER have automated updates enabled on show-critical systems.
That said, a library may not be a show critical system if you have the option to still ingest locally on your playout servers. I have no experience with the 814, but there should be an option to simply revert to the previous software version. As ext2/ext3 is such a basic feature for a NAS, I would also assume there is a quick fix for this within the current software, though.

Indeed, I thought that automatic updates were unabled (a few times the system asked) but this time didn´t ask.

98% of time we keep the dcp´s for the films we run so there´s no problem but once in a while, the distributor ask for the dcp´s back before the end of the running date so my boss bought the Synology for backup in case the serever of the projector fail (as happened once)
I will wait to the support email before messing with the OS. (I´m still a trainee as a digital projection refers...in fact still a trainee in analogic) [Wink]
