So it's Saturday night and I had shut off the projector to change the bulb, and the #$%^& NEC power switch (the flimsy white one) will not function now.

We changed-out this switch once already and I am sure the thing hasn't been operated more than 3 or 4 times in its lifetime.

Is there a way I can wire around the thing to get through tonight? I'm mainly worried about taking the cover off and screwing up some sort of security settings.

I've tried calling my tech (Mark G.) and he isn't answering his phone. Any short-term help would be appreciated.

Do you have your machine wired so the projector side and lamphouse are powered separately? If so, you can plug the projector side into a powered power strip/surge projector which gets turned off with a switch or breaker. This is how all of ours are wired. The only time I switch the white switch is if I'm working on something inside the projector - not including changing the lamp.

All's OK now - I found an electrician friend who came in and got us going. Stupid switch.
