We recently found a generation 1 NC1600C to put in our fourth screen. Got it in and everything worked fine on it for a while. When we lock up at the end of the night we like to put it in standby mode and bring it out the next day. Lately though, that has been a challenge. I don't know if it is the keypad, but the power/stand by button seems to be very unresponsive most of the time anymore.

If you play with it long enough, sometimes you can get it to work, but most of the time, you can hold it until the cows come home and it does nothing. I pulled the keypad out to make sure the connections were seated good into the keypad and they seemed to be. Also, last night when I couldn't get the power button to work I tried some other buttons on the keypad, I could turn the backlight on and off, open and close the dowser fine, it was just the power button that was unresponsive.

I don't know if the keypad is bad, if the button is bad, or if you can even get those kind of parts these days, but I'd be interested to know any opinions on this.

Parts should not be a problem with NEC. Generally expensive but available. You should really have your tech take a look at it to determine switch, software or what it is up to.
