I have been experiencing very odd behavior on one of our Christie CP2220; 3 times (that I know of) during the last two months some or all the red pixels turns on for a second or less. This "red blinking lasts from a few seconds to a minute. When it occurs either all the red pixels are lit or only some of them in horizontal bars.
I guess that the problem is isolated to the projector, as it has been observed both during input from SDI and DVI.
Looking through the projector logs, I cannot find anything suspicious.
Has anyone seen something similar? or even better know the cure?

These spurious pixel issues are mostly related to contact issues in the card cage or towards the light engine. Very often these issues are solved by pulling out and reseating the boards in the card cage. You need to be able to clear tamper events and/or re-marriage, so make sure you have the necessary unlock codes/passwords.
If you don't, consult your tech.

The projector is used with a Doremi DCP2K4. Besides the physical keys for the projector, I have the "Service" login/password for the projector and "admin" login/password for the Doremi - Do I need anything else in order to clear tamper events or re-marriage?

I had a very similar problem on my CP2000. I would get red pixel streaks - not full bars but sporadic vertical lines from scene to scene either 1/3 from the left or right. I had my tech buddy come in and re-seat the cards in the light engine. That worked but the lines came back. Next - hammer sytle - I started to tap the top box of the light engine next to the key lock. One good whack - not too hard and it went away.
I eventually figured out that it was likely a combination of too much heat and vibration in the summer months. The Kingsway Theatre is from 1939 with a typical second level projection booth - with a thin concrete slab. Small vibrations from the sound system - or even passing trucks would cause issues. With the added summer heat the thermal expansion combined with vibration would move the cards slightly out of place.
I subsequently moved the projector closer to a divider wall and added both extra cooling and a vibration damper. Seems to be working. The magic of the whack!

I had this happen in one relatively new NC-2000 and it was because the DMD was not properly torqued down when it was installed at the factory. As it warned up it wold get those vertical lines, but green in this case. Torquing it down to factory spec fixed the problem.
