Does anyone know how to clear the DeCrypter Link Log File on a Christie 2220? Our 2220 is giving us a Critical Alarm warning that there is no more room in that particular log file. So far no one from Christie has been able to help us. Only advice we are getting is to replace the LD Card?

any help would be appreciated.

What is the software version of the projector ? Upgrading to version 4.4.0, or the latest 4.8 (containing LD version vP1.8(24), should clear the error.

Hi

we are currently on V4 .3.0(5)

We will upgrade to the newest version to see if that works.

Thank You

Does this system use an IMB, or Twin-HD-SDI with enigma board/Link Decryptor? If the latter, it is really important to upgrade the software to Enigma 1.8. Actually you are lucky it did not hurt you earlier.

Search the forum for Enigma, it's a fun read...

Also, what server do you have? Regardless, update to Enigma 1.8, as mentioned. That will likely remove the immediate danger but if you have a Dolby DSS server with version 4.7.x and beyond, you can have it pull all of the logs and "flush" the Enigma (which I would do AFTER getting to Enigma 1.8).

Although the LD is located in the projector, it's the D-Cinema server that does the security log extraction. So there's nothing you can do to or on the actual projector to clear out the accumulated log entries.
What server do you use? Unless it's a Christie IMB-S2 server, asking Christie for help is just pissing into the wind. If it IS a Christie IMB-S2 server... well, they should be able to help you ... or that's another reason not to use the thing.
The latest LD firmware, EnigmaPro v1.8.24, resolves a nasty bug that could corrupt the limited LD memory, leaving less and less usable until the LD was bricked. You should have the latest Christie projector package installed, I believe it's now v4.8.0(8), this includes the latest LD version.
However: if the logs are filling up and you get a warning, it's the server you need to look at.
Also... these security logs are mental. Nobody uses them, they are not read by anyone or any program anyone will admit to... I've asked Barco, Doremi, Dolby, NEC and GDC what they're used for. The answer is "nothing", they just need to be downloaded and then thrown away - otherwise the LD memory fills up and it stops working. If anyone knows different and these logs are used for something useful... let me know.

Dave - these logs were pretty useful in bricking enigma boards and selling new ones...

We are a post production facility and have been playing our dcp s through a dvs clipster. We just purchased a DOREME Showpost from Dolby and when we hooked it up this log problem accrued.

I believe those logs are included with the Audit logs. So if you are on a VPF program, then that would be Hollywood's means to ensure no undo tampering was going on (like that was the real problem). This is why the SERVER pulls the logs and the audit logs are also the server's responsibility.

The real joke was the GORE board thing for series 1. Only VPF people were forced into spending the money and dealing with the early/easily triggered GORE boards. While the projector/server knows that that the security enclosure for a series 1 isn't there, it has yet to stop anyone from playing any DCI compliant movies.

Call Dolby tech support, I'm sure they can help you clear the logs. Doremi cinema servers have a process to do it, your unit should as well.

I believe Doremi's do it during idle time when they are not doing anything else. Just connect it up. Make sure you have the projector registered as a device with the correct IP address of the projector in the server setup and let it sit with both fully powered up. After a few hours it should have read them all. Make sure one of the Ethernet ports is configured to be on the same network as the projector of visa versa and have the network cable connected between the two.
