Hi! We are trying to send lighting cues to a Lutron light system through our Barco ICMP but the commands do not work.
testing: "Lutron" "Send Text"( "#DEVICE,15,2,3<CR><LF>" )
test successful
The result shows the Barco can reach the Lutron device but nothing happens,
Anyone got those 2 devices to work together?

I've not worked with Lutron devices, but what's the interface? RS232? Did you check the interface settings like the correct baud-rate?

Also, I don't know anything about the protocol, but #DEVICE looks awful lot like a variable that needs something like a device identifier. [Wink]

Normally, Lutron requires a login with each command.

Have you tried that command, exactly has typed from something like PuTTY to verify it works?

#Device seems to be a correct message identifier for Lutron.

Other than that, I can't help. As Steve says, try to compose messages from a computer using a terminal type application. Once they work, you know exactly what is needed, and you can then try to transfer it to the Alchemy.

They are not all the same but they do indeed seem to have similarities. I normally recall scene presets.

#DEVICE,0xFFFFFFFF,141,7,1 \r

Is a typical command that I've used to recall preset 1 (the very last digit.

the "0xFFFFFFFF" is sort of an "all call" to avoid knowing what the specific device number is.

The "nwk" is the login.

This is for the QSE Grafix Eye interface (which has RS232 and Ethernet. The Ethernet port is 23 (Telnet).

Note, the carriage return in this example is for devices that use the "\r" shorthand for "0D" hex...not all devices do that.

I have tested the command (#DEVICE,15,2,3<CR><LF>) in terminal and it works using a telnet session. Do you know if a telnet session can be opened from the Alchemy?
When launching this command in the telnet, many other command are sent (~DEVICE,15,2,3
~OUTPUT,6,1,5.00
~OUTPUT,6,29,8....
Also tried to create a cue in the Alchemy with a "send text" for each command but it doesn't work either.
We also have a Q-SYS core we could control with the ICMP if we can set it up.

Since it works with telnet, apparently the ICMP setup is wrong. The server can definitely send text messages to a network device.
Go through your ICMPset file carefully and confirm that the device is set up right - especially address and port. Then confirm the cues are set up as well. Barco has premade automation files for some common automation devices like Jnior and CP750 etc, but probably not Lutron - you just append these to the automation data, then modify the addressing and the cues appear (and work). Maybe get one of those premade files and study the xml file to see how it all works?
