I had to change several bulbs Tuesday night, and I couldn't help but marvel at how clean the lamp houses on our NEC NC2000C projectors have remained after 7 years. Aside from some minor tool scratches you would hardly know they are not new.

Yep! And the rest of the projector is also that clean! I put these projectors in some of the dustiest locations in the west and they all still look like that.

Mark, what about the fan that blows air and dirt on top of the light engine. I have seen that get gunky even with regular filter changes.

I pull the engine out and clean that area up when it gets gunky looking. That heat sink comes off and it's all pretty easy to clean. Also, using thin foam tape around the edges of the filters so they actually seal against the housing helps a lot.

As Mark says, it's a simple math(s) calculation. How many amps (of 230VAC, given that this is in the UK) do you need it to be able to supply, and for how long?
