Hi all,

Recently client have feedback they make 5.1 and 7.1 cue in Barco Commander to control Dolby CP750.

Anyone have idea how do to it cause I never done this before.

Create automation cues in the Alchemy to send IP commands to the CP750's IP address on port 61408. There is an appendix in the CP750's installation manual that lists the commands. Then simply add the cues to your SPLs as needed. Full details of how to create the cues (this is done in Communicator, not Commander or the web UI) can be found in the Alchemy's installation and/or user manual - can't remember which.

I believe Barco already has a CP750 library to get you started too.

Note, these configurations are in xml if you prefer to put them in that way. Here is an excerpt from my xml file on the CP750 that deals with format cues:

<Event Source="USER_CUE" Name="Channel 7.1">
<Action Target="CP750" DelayInMilliseconds="0" Name="Send Text">
<Parameter Name="Text" Value="cp750.sys.pcm_2_channel_decode_mode_1 4_discrete_sur"/>
</Action>
</Event>
<Event Source="USER_CUE" Name="Channel 5.1">
<Action Target="CP750" DelayInMilliseconds="0" Name="Send Text">
<Parameter Name="Text" Value="cp750.sys.pcm_2_channel_decode_mode_1 lr_discrete"/>
</Action>
</Event>
<Event Source="USER_CUE" Name="Channel 2.0">
<Action Target="CP750" DelayInMilliseconds="0" Name="Send Text">
<Parameter Name="Text" Value="cp750.sys.pcm_2_channel_decode_mode_1 prologic_2"/>
</Action>
</Event>

However, once you locate the CP750 file from Barco, it may be easier for you to merely use Communicator to put in the specific cues (the information after "Value" above are the actual command strings for the CP750 to get it to change its decoding).

Barco supplies a bunch of automation control libraries for the ICMP, covering e.g. CP650, CP750,CP850. They can be downloaded from the MyBarco support pages. Of course, as others mentioned, they can also be set up from scratch manually in the ICMP macro editor part of Communicator. However, if the OP's intention is explicitly 5.1 to 7.1 switchover, that isn't covered in the CP750 file and needs to be added manually, as Steve laid out in the above post.

If you start changing the decode mode around, make sure all macros include the mode cue you need for that show format. The CP750 will not change itself back, and a normal 5.1 or 7.1 cinema show played in L/R decode mode will not be popular. 5.1 played in 7.1 won't have any rear surround sound.

Can you share for me add to ICMP.
Thanks.

I do not have one for the DCP series. However, it isn't particularly hard to create one. It will just take some time the first time and then you'll have your library.
