Whe have a customer who requested descriptive audio at our drive-in. I want to test it out to see if it's possible to output this on a radio transmitter. I wanted to see if anyone has insight on setting this up. I saw in the manual that it requires a 5 pin phoenix connector to set up the Hi-Vin. But I didn't see any configuration settings, so I assume it's basically there or not there.

As far as I know, the recent USL processors offer an HI autodetect feature. That is, if there is actual HI included with the DCP, then it will play that track out of HI. If there is no explicit HI audio on that channel, it will automatically default to playing a L/C/R downmix through the HI output.

As Carsten said, I'm dropping in! You should have received the 5 pin Phoenix style connector with the JSD-60. You can set up channel routing, including HI/VI in the Advanced tab. The default channel routing for a drive in takes AES8 and sends it to the VI output. You may want to add in some LCR so people hear the main soundtrack along with the descriptive audio.
