Has anybody set up a remote control through a Qsys ,and if so,do you input it into the switch, so then it just feeds the information into the projector control how was it done so you could play ,pause that type of thing .it's a Sony SRX 320

The Sonys are pretty closed as far as networked remote control (input) is concerned. They can do it, of course, but, other than through TMS, I don't know any documentation.

There is now a basic serial option, but I think not for the 320, only for the more recent S10 server.

thanks for the info ,the setup that we are trying to do is in a screening room in a multiplex where people rent it out and then they can play and pause from a tablet then the other controls ,volume lights temperature which that I can figure out the biggest hang-up is the projector

You may actually be out of luck. The Sony TMS supports these commands, but you need to find someone at Sony willing to tell you the command details (and hopefully they are easy enough to replicate using standard methods).

I have a plug in thats works with the 515/815 but I don't think it will work on the 320. I will check and see if/what the differences are.

That would be very usefull for me: I have a customer who keeps sony 515 projectors always on because he's not able to turn them on and off... Would it be possible to get this plugin (or to know command syntax)?

David

The 320 is different and will take a some work to modify the plug in.

Elia

Email me and we can discuss.

The projectors can not be switched off, only sent to standby. The server can be shut down. All this can be done from the web gui everyone(?) uses to control these systems. So, what is their problem with shutting off these systems that would be solved with a network command?

I guess they want to automate the process. A web GUI isn't a particular reliable API. [Wink]

Well, a necessary mouse click on 'shutdown', even on 12 machines, would not encourage me to run these machines 24/7.

I was very disappointed when they confessed me that. The only person in charge is quite old and frightened from digital equipments, so it's basically trained to push play and nothing more...
