The voltage seems fine to me, it's a 3.6V battery, so it's operating within what you would expect for such a battery.

I don't know the exact recommendations from Dolby, but I generally replace those kinds of batteries every three years. So if yours is turning 3 or is older, a replacement might be a good idea, even if the output voltage is still in perfect range.

Please notice: I advice to let this do by a certified professional, even though the steps are pretty straight forward. If something goes wrong, you have to RMA your CAT 1600.

- If you have a media block with a yellow battery, don't replace this battery. The battery isn't field-replaceable and you need to contact Dolby for a replacement media block.
- If you have a pink-colored battery, the battery is field-replaceable. Make sure you have got a battery with a correct charge. I like to measure those with a multimeter before installing. If you replace your battery with a dead battery, you'll brick your CAT 1600.

Very important: In order to replace the battery, the CP850 must be turned ON, not off. So, power it off, get it out of the rack, get the top-cover off and power it on. Make sure it's fully booted before you start replacing the battery!

To replace the battery itself, you need a flat-head screwdriver. Carefully wiggle open the plastic holder and replace the battery with a new one. Make sure to check the polarity.

Once the battery is installed, you can turn off the CP850, put the cover back on and re-install it into your rack.
