The image is slightly cropped in 2D FLAT format. Does look like a shadow. The upper left and the lower right, even though the sides of the mask have been removed.

Check your projector integrator Alignment.

Loosen the clamp holding the Integrator rod in place, at the dowser end, using the long allen driver supplied with the projector.
Place a white screen test pattern, and slightly rotate the integrator until,the shadows disappears. Re-tighten the clamp.

This is definitely integrator rod related as you can see it in the lower-right corner as well.

Note, fold mirror adjustment may also be required to get things centered up right too.

Given all of this, if you don't have experience adjusting an integrator rod, I STRONGLY suggest getting a trained/authorized technician to do it. You have the ability to overheat things quite easily, especially on the 2230 where you might have a large lamp in there. When the light is misaligned, the heat isn't going on the mirrors anymore. The light pipe will be getting hot, regardless of alignment the longer the light is on it.

Agree with the rest, almost certainly misaligned integrator rod.

Agree with Steve, aligning the integrator rod should be done by someone who has experience. If you have never done it yourself before, don't do it. Misalignment can cause heat damage, probably not covered by any warranty (if there is warranty left).

Thank you all for the post. Yes, the fault was in the integrator alignment.
