Part of the Columbia Classics 75th anniversary.
Print #001 came in and was damaged all to hell. There were splices every two minutes and edge damage. One of the film cans was crushed. We called Technicolor and told them that when we booked this series, we were told there were new prints available. They said they would see what they could do. They didn't call but today Print #008 showed up and it has never been run!
Point; Call to replace anything that you don't like from Technicolor. Even if you have to build up two prints of everything.

Will you be showing "It Happened One Night"? How's the print?
Apparently the neg for this is gone. The only 35mm print that I've seen of this is pretty bad; the second half is a dupe and it's splicy and contrast isn't great. It's still a great film, though.
Supposedly there is (are) new print(s) of this title for the Columbia 75th fest.

The print was a pleasure to watch. I used the scope back-up lens because we don't have a dedicated 1.37:1 lens and aperture yet. What a clean, clear and crisp image 1.33 is. The print has just a few spots where the image density changes a bit. That is the only visual defect. And the mono sound has limited range and a bit of hiss.Tomorrow, Gilda.
